Rules

• This qualification is specifically designed for teachers who are already professionally qualified to teach. Individuals seeking to upgrade to additional REQV levels should consult with the relevant Education Department districts or Provincial Education Departments.
• Admission requirements must be satisfied as outstanding requirements may not be offered for non-degree purposes (NDP). If applicants do not meet all admission requirements, they should consider applying for a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree, if not already professionally qualified.
• The maximum duration for completing the PGCE qualification is three years.
• Students must register the Teaching Methodology in the same year as the Teaching Practice if the qualification spans more than one year.
• Changes to modules registered in excess of the prescribed limit are subject to cancellation by Unisa.
• Noteworthy: Students who have successfully completed the module SPE1507 must not register for NSO1507, as SPE1507 has been replaced.
